Over the years we have watched some realtors become very successful and others leave the business. The successful ones actively pursued becoming professional in all aspects of listing and selling real estate. They all seemed to have a good understanding of mortgage basics. We understand the two basic parts, listing and selling and focus our attention on both.

 

Listing, as related to the mortgage loan, involves knowing various loan programs available to best market the property. These could be "0" down payment programs, Tennessee Housing Development Authority (THDA), City of Memphis down payment assistance, Mississippi Bond, and many others. Having a wide variety of loan programs available increases the number of prospective borrowers, thereby increasing the odds of finding a buyer.

 

The mortgage part of selling begins with pre-qualifying the buyer. Once again, knowledge of the various loan programs allows a realtor to determine if the buyer qualifies, and what amount he qualifies for. This knowledge will save a professional realtor a great deal of time and frustration. It is our goal to provide the realtor with the correct information on what the borrower can and can't do. This allows the realtor to  focus on properties that will work.
